I don't believe this is a wild rose. It was growing on a fence at an abandoned home site located a gravel road near Beggs Lake, Beggs, Oklahoma. Probably planted by the former resident, it is growing wild and beautiful, blooming profusely in the early summer heat.
Hi! I came across your site because I live in Beggs, OK and have found these wild roses growing down every back dirt and gravel road! They are so beautiful I was trying to research and see what they were called. I found your site. Still haven't found their name, but I don't believe the ones you photographed had been planted by previous home owners, as I said. I have found odles of these down miles of backroads in Beggs! Thanks for sharing! Have a blessed day!

I can't find the name or origin either. It grows all over wildly on the property Ive owned for 11 years on West Virginia. I want to know more...guess I will continue my search.
