Barbed Wire and Buttercups

Meadows and pastures are spangled with buttercups.

Buttercups are small and have a satiny glazed look. Mixed in are Indian paintbrushes and milkweed.

Imagine how different this scene would appear with no fences or telephone poles strung with swooping wires.

A leaning rusty fence post holds this barbed wire fence. I love to find an old fence on  hand cut wooden posts. Black locust was the most commonly used wood for fence posts in Oklahoma.

Don't fence me in!
